  • A (Tea) Party in Boston

Even though I grew up on the East Coast, I had never really been to Boston. I say 'really' because I did venture to the area twice to play lacrosse against Harvard in college. But this time I was ready to go for fun! Joe and I only stayed from Friday night to Monday morning but packed a lot into our two and a half days. After a quick flight from Pittsburgh, we headed to the North End where we met up with our hosts, Joe's sister, Gina, and her fiance, Angus, who wasted no time in getting the fun started. They had a slew of activities for us but here are some of the highlights:

    Awesome views at Yotel Boston.
My pal Christie was only a short drive away so she was able to meet up with us. We decided to try a newly opened rooftop bar on top of Yotel. It didn't disappoint and even had Miller Lite for Joe.

An improv show at Improv Asylum.
This was one of the first things we did in Boston and it was also my first improv show ever. We enjoyed mason jar beers and wine while watching a pretty funny Halloween-themed improv show.

Flights and pretzels at Harpoon Brewery.
What a cool brewery but beware of the line! Luckily it only took us 15 minutes to get in but the wait was an hour by the time we left. I had the UFO flight and we shared some pretty darn delicious pretzels with a variety of dipping sauces (my favorite).

Drinks with a view at Top of the Hub.
What a view! The $8 beer was certainly worth it while looking over the city. You can even see the planes coming in and out of the airport.

4th row seats at the Patriots game.
I was surprised to find Gillette Stadium wasn't as close to the city as I expected. But the train from South Station was hassle-free mainly thanks to Gina and Angus knowing their way around. We lucked out and didn't see much rain though there was a flash flood warning the day before. This was a whole day event but was 100% worth it for the nachos.

    Being tourists around Beacon Hill.
We walked a lot on Saturday and took a jaunt through the expensive neighborhood of Beacon Hill. Tour guides Gina and Angus told us Acorn Street is one of the most photographed streets in Boston. So, naturally..

Oh and did I mention Halloween?
I forced Joe to be Gaston...sorry Joe!

And the list goes on. Needless to say, we had excellent hosts, enjoyed cool activities and overall had a wicked awesome time in the city of Boston.
